Reflections Program in Clover Hill’s Cafeteria on ___________
Designed to enhance rather than replace a quality arts education, the PTA® Reflections ProgramSM provides opportunities for students to express themselves and to receive positive recognition for their artistic efforts.
This is a state wide PTA Arts competition. Start thinking of what this theme means to you. For questions, contact Wendy Learn – wb.Learn@hotmail.com
PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual arts Reflections Program. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage). For more than 40 years, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art. The Reflections Program was started in 1969 by then Colorado PTA President Mary Lou Anderson.
Please contact the PTA Reflections chair with any questions. Thank you for taking part in this great program! Reflections Chair: Wendy Learn – wb.Learn@hotmail.com
What Is Reflections?
Reflections is a National PTA Arts in Education program dedicated to promote and encourage knowledge of and involvement in the arts for students through parent and community involvement. One of the goals of the Arts in Education program is to work with parents and teachers on Local, State and National levels to encourage continuous funding for arts programs in the public school boards’ yearly budgets. This is a national level contest for students, grades K through 12 covering six areas of the arts:
- Visual Arts
- Dance Choreography
- Music Composition
Students at Clover Hill Elementary have achieved success at the Council, District, Regional and State levels and have gone onto the National level to compete – and this year we look forward to the same quality. That’s a lot of success for one Elementary School! Remember, Parents, our children are learning through creative activity and play. When we value and encourage our children’s enjoyment of the arts at home, we are preparing them to be better learners in school.
