Welcome to the 2016-17 school year at Clover Hill Elementary School! I am thrilled to serve as the new Principal of CHES this year. For those of you that haven’t met me yet, here’s a little about my background. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri (Yes, I’m a HUGE Cardinals fan)! For the past 21 years, I have lived in Virginia and currently reside in Chesterfield County.
I’ve known since I was a small child that I was destined to work in education, so choosing this path was an easy decision for me. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and Elementary Education from Longwood University. While serving as a teacher in Chesterfield County Public Schools, I pursued a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Instructional Technology from VCU. After teaching, I worked as an Elementary Technology Integrator for CCPS. In this role, I coached teachers and modeled lessons on how to effectively integrate technology into the elementary classroom. During this time, I developed a deep passion for professional development and working with teachers. This journey lead me to pursue an endorsement in Educational Leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to being selected as Principal at Clover Hill Elementary, I served as the assistant principal at Crenshaw Elementary and O. B. Gates Elementary School.
As a parent myself, I value the importance of ensuring your child receives the best education possible. Not only an academic education, but character education as well. I believe each and every student has the potential to be great at something. Our goal at CHES is to help each child discover greatness within themselves. You can rest assured knowing that each decision I make is in the best interest of your child or children.
